Salesians of Don Bosco

Don Bosco Central School, Irinjalakuda, a Catholic Minority Institutions run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, founded by St.John Bosco (1815 – 1888). St.John Bosco was a priest of the Catholic Church, an eminent educationist, who hailed from Italy. He came to the rescue of The poor, disadvantaged youth of his time with his novel method of educating them. He based his education on the three great principles of Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. 

The Salesians of Don Bosco are present in 134 countries, in five continents across the globe. Through a global network of educational and social service organizations, which include 15 universities, 110 institutions of higher education and thousands of schools and social development centers. In view of its reach and expertise in the field of education, it caters to over 15 millions young people and the Salesian Congregation enjoys consultancy status at the United Nations. In India, the Salesians of Don Bosco have over 500 Educational Institutions. Its services are offered through 41 colleges, over 100 technical schools and a large network of high schools and scores of non-formal technical and agricultural training centres spared across the country, covering the entire spectrum of social development including literacy programs, shelters for street children and rehabilitation and relief operations. The Government of India has recognized the Salesians of Don Bosco as the largest non-governmental provider of technical education in the country. Don Bosco Central School was established in June 2002. It is a part of this great network of Institutions, under the Administration of Bangalore Province.

The School follows the Preventive System of Don Bosco, which is based on Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. The system of education that he envisioned, aims to create generations of young men and women, who are intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed, spiritually inspired and devoted to their country and the world. Our system of Education brings together educators and youngsters in a family experience of trust and dialogue.

The progress of an institution to a certain extent, depends on the efficient coordination of the Management System and here at Don Bosco Central School, we have a well- knit and highly experienced community comprising 5 Salesian Priests. Rev. Fr. Manuel Mevada, Rector and Manager, Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Shasthamkala, Vice- Rector and Principal of Higher Secondary School, Rev. Fr. Manu Peedikayil, Principal of Central School, Rev. Fr.
