The 32nd All Kerala Don Bosco Open State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament was inaugurated at the Don Bosco School Indoor Stadium, Irinjalakuda, in a vibrant ceremony marked by enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and the dignified presence of esteemed guests.
The event began with a prayer song by the school choir, setting a solemn tone. Rev. Fr. Jithin Michael SDB, Principal of Don Bosco Central School, delivered the welcome address, followed by the presidential address by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakunnel SDB, Rector and Manager of Don Bosco Schools, who emphasized the school’s commitment to holistic education and athletic excellence.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Shajan M.S., Inspector of Police, Irinjalakuda, who, in his inaugural address, highlighted the role of sports in promoting discipline and unity among youth. A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was conducted by the dignitaries, symbolizing the official commencement of the event. The chief guest was honoured by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Vattakunnel SDB, and Mr. Soumya Banerjee, Table Tennis Coach, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks. The inaugural function concluded with the National Anthem.
Over the course of three days, the tournament witnessed spirited performances from top-ranking players across the state, showcasing talent, discipline, and competitive zeal.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Mrs. Padmaja S. Menon, Senior Vice President of TTFI and President of TTAK, who officially declared the tournament closed, lauding the organizers, players, and supporters for their remarkable commitment to the sport.
